"Through partnerships with families, community and staff, we will provide exemplary educational opportunities, preparing all students for successful futures."
Ramsey staff believe that every child will be successful. An established, well-trained staff; a continuous, progressive, developmentally-appropriate curriculum; a supportive Board of Education; and an extensive parent program have given our students an edge.
Ramsey Elementary has students in grades 1-3. Over the last 25 years, the elementary staff has developed a number of instructional options to fit the needs of our students and families. The primary objective in all our programs is to develop a deep and long lasting academic relationship between teachers, parents and students.
Parents can choose to have their students learn in a:
Reading, writing, spelling and math are priorities. Science, social studies and health are many times integrated to provide relevant and meaningful experiences for the child. Each child attends music and physical education classes five days a week, has a 50-minute library class weekly and accesses the computer lab for 50 minutes a week or more.
Supplemental services in reading and math (Title 1) are available within the classroom for children who qualify. Special needs services are offered within the classroom as well or in a resource room setting.
The Discovery Program, a children’s Day Treatment Program, is provided on site. Services are provided to develop: self-esteem, positive peer relations, self-management skills, problem-solving skills, friendship skills, and management of emotional concerns and communications.
